Newborn is an independent, official journal of the Global Newborn Society. All contributions and general correspondence regarding editorial matters should be addressed to the Editor-in-Chief and sent to the Editorial Office. Authors will be notified of a decision by email within 2 weeks. In the first year, the online publication will be free of any costs to the authors and also to the readers.

We welcome articles with Consensus Statements, Guidelines, Trials Methodology, and Core Outcomes relevant to fetuses/young infants in the first 1000 days. Please contact the Editorial Office to inquire about suitability. Every issue will highlight a first or second author who is an Early Career Investigator (less than 7 years on faculty), and another author who does not use English as a first or second language and did most of the work in the article.

Authors wishing to submit manuscripts to the Newborn should do so via the online manuscript submission system. We plan to bring out versions of this journal in some other languages next year. However, for now, all manuscripts must be written in English and must adhere to the layout and length guidelines unless specifically approved by the Editor-in-Chief.

Unless there is a strong scientific rationale, such as a considerably larger sample size, the Newborn will not publish studies that merely seek to "confirm" the effectiveness of established therapies in "low-resource settings" or in the "third world". However, we will make all efforts to understand projects that seek to identify regional, genetic, or other socio-economic confounders that could alter the pathophysiology, outcomes, or therapeutic responses, and are statistically adequate to do so.
