The governance of the Global Newborn Society is founded upon a commitment to integrity, scientific excellence, responsible stewardship, global collaboration, and enduring service to newborn infants and their families. The Society's Founding Governance Series establishes the institutional framework through which these commitments are translated into accountable leadership, transparent decision-making, and responsible governance.

The Series comprises four complementary documents:

​THE CONSTITUTION

The Constitution is the foundational governing instrument of the Global Newborn Society. It establishes the Society's institutional identity, enduring principles, governance structure, and fundamental authorities, providing the foundation upon which all other governance documents are built.

​​THE BYLAWS

The Bylaws give operational effect to the Constitution by establishing the structures, responsibilities, and procedures through which the Global Newborn Society is governed and administered. They translate the Society's constitutional framework into its principal mechanisms of governance and institutional operation.

​​THE GOVERNANCE HANDBOOK

The Governance Handbook provides practical guidance for the governance and stewardship of the Global Newborn Society. It supports the implementation of the Constitution, Bylaws, Founding Philosophy, Enduring Principles, and the broader governance responsibilities of the Society.

​​THE POLICY MANUAL

The Policy Manual establishes the policies that guide the governance, administration, and stewardship of the Global Newborn Society. Grounded in the Constitution and Bylaws, it provides a consistent framework for responsible decision-making, institutional accountability, and the conduct of the Society's activities.

Together, these documents form an integrated governance framework designed not only to guide the Global Newborn Society today, but also to preserve its mission, values, institutional integrity, and responsibility to future generations as it advances newborn health throughout the world.
